Why we verify consultants

You're taking professional advice from someone on the strength of a video call. That only works if their credentials are actually theirs.

What a consultant's verification covers

Every consultant on ExpertiseGrid is verified before their profile goes live — identity, professional credentials, and, for categories where one is required by law (legal, medical, financial), an actual license number checked against the relevant source. This isn't a form they filled in; it's a real check, cross-referenced, with anything unclear resolved by a person.

Clients aren't held to the same bar

Browsing consultant profiles and availability never requires an account. When you do sign in to book a session or send a message, that's a much lighter step — confirming your email, plus whatever your card issuer checks when you pay. That's deliberate, not a shortcut — the verification exists to protect the integrity of the advice you're receiving, and that trust runs in one direction.

Why it's built this way

A consultant's word is the product. Asking a client to upload identification just to look at a profile would work against the entire point of making the platform open to browse — so the scrutiny sits where the risk actually is.
